What's the benefit to owning multiple home resorts?

Kinda late to this party! We have 5 home resorts! 3 at WDW and 2 at DLR. Started with BWV and stayed that way until several years ago when we started adding on. We were getting ready to retire and wanted more points for longer stays. We also wanted a bit of variety . We now do 3 way split stays at WDW (BWV, BLT, and AK

Disneyland Hotel Villas Owners Thread

We bought VDH when it was first offered. We live on the west coast, which makes DLR an easy flight, unlike the 6 hour journey to Orlando. We could not afford VGC when it came on sale and always was bummed about that. We did use our points back in the early 2006 to book a stay at the hotel side of the Grand Californian.

Upcoming 2026 Trips (Disney and Other)

October and December are Great months to visit Florida. Not too hot not too humid. In the old days we would go the first. 2 weeks in December. It was great! Parks were not crowded. Just a lot of Brazilian tour groups. Now there is no real off season. People found out that the winter weather was great. And after Covid,

New Owner Booking Tips/Tricks

We almost never have an issue booking a 1 or 2br villa at either BWV or BLT at the 11 month window. Studios are another issue, I think due to commercial renters. When we could not get BWV, our default fall back is OKW. It is very laid back and relaxing. Sure, you have to bus everywhere, but that was not an issue. Have

What's Your Bucket List Disney/DVC Stay?

I think we have done our Bucket List. We stayed at a Grand Villa at Jambo House. That was really great! So So So much room. 3 balconies and a pool table! We dont have any desire for Club Level, May look into a Grand Villa at Kindani or BWV. We stayed the month of December at OKW around 20 years ago, that would be fun t

Unpopular DVC Opinions

So sorta agree here. We were disappointed when walking into BLT for the first time. The theming was underwhelming. Lobby is small. However that quickly faded. The clubhouse is among the best in DVC. The grandkids really loved it. CMs are top notch and so very cheerful and helpful. We stay in 2 br villas and having 3 ba

Using DVC points as part of a snow-birding plan?

Ok late to this Party! We usually take 15 day or so trips to WDW in the winter when it is particularly gloomy here in the PNW. We also take 10 day trips to DLR to find the sun as well. We tend to go to WDW before Christmas and DLR after. We did spend the whole month of December at OKW back in the early 2000's. That was

Recommendations for DLR newbie / WDW vet

Have a great Trip. We love VGC! The line into the DCA at rope drop can be a bit daunting, but it seems to move pretty well. The room layouts are fantastic and having a third bathroom can be a life saver. Lobby is fantastic, but can be a bit crowded and loud. We are taking our Grandkids next April for their fist trip to

@DVCKen Not reckless, we also bought sight unseen. we had stayed at the Disneyland Hotel a couple of times back in the early 1990's when the kids were small. Really great memories, so we thought, This is Perfect and jumped. A couple of things I wish I knew before pulling the trigger. First the walk back through Downtow

We went to the Epcot Flower and Garden last May. We also stayed at the Boardwalk. Very surprised at how hot May could be. The Boardwalk was baking! Even the locals were complaining! Thunderstorms did not help the humidity. We really enjoyed it and really want to do Flower and Garden again, just a bit earlier, say April

Plans for contracts expiring in 2042?

Precisely! We bought 250 points back in 1996. 2042 was so far in the future as to be nearly invisible! Now it is coming up like a wet kiss on a fast fist! We also started adding on to ensure we can keep our DVC fix. Little did we know that Adding On becomes a bit addictive! By the time 2042 rolls around, we will be in

Fixing Lightning Lane

I agree. We have never bought one and never will. The only time we used one is the "free" one they give you instead of early entry at DLR. Dont get me started on how much a rip off that is. Our trips are long enough that we get multiple park days in each park. If the line is too long at one ride, we just move along.
