Summer DVC Incentives
Didn't see a thread for this yet so figured I'd kick it off!
DVC should be rolling out the new Summer incentives on the 28th of this month. Anyone have any speculation on what we're looking at this time around?
Once they drop we can keep this thread going with the actual details as they come in.
Also — Riviera has to be getting close to sold out at this point, right? Curious if that plays into what we see incentive-wise.

Looking forward to it! 🔍 I will be watching closely but I don't expect the offers to be vastly different from what they are have on offer now. Maybe some "free" bonus points when you buy a certain minimum points at the resorts they are pushing but probably restructured to compare closely to current incentives when looking at the bottom line.

Yeah we just added on and we will be within that 10 day recission window for a contract rewrite.
I didn't think the direct incentives were bad for Riv this go around but I'm hoping for a bit better for the summer.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the incentives are, but I'm not purchasing. Sometimes the new incentives aren't better than the past ones, so to that I will mention Edna's famous advice. If now is the right time for you to buy, don't fuss that it could have been cheaper before... don't look back.

have no intention to buy this round, but am always curious to see where things go...
they'll go live after midnight at some point tomorrow... as in you'll have to wait all day Monday, and then after midnight at some point the new incentives are live...
but I'm not sure they do the same sheets they used to, so we might not really know the pricing structure until Tuesday morning....
When we bought in 2023, our guide was learning the price structure in real time with me on the phone... he admitted he had been out sick or vacation or something so he missed the training on the new incentives... it was kind of fun!
I didn't realize they didn't do the pricing sheets like they used to.

I didn't realize they didn't do the pricing sheets like they used to.
It changed between the time we bought in 2024 to just a few months ago. Guides now send out an individual sheet per property and point value instead of a grid with all of the numbers, financing, dues, etc.
Probably to reduce "confusion" as much as possible and be a bit more specific for the number of points that you're buying.

It also allows them to “tailor” the pricing more to each individual buyer with the new additional discounts that have emerged in recent months that are only for certain constituency groups.
Seems like there is a VDH ticket deal this round!

Well they're live. Was looking at 150 or 200 pts at Poly or Riviera as a new member. Poly 150 pts stayed the same, Riviera 150 pts is $1,200 more mostly because they dropped the Anniversary Promo, Poly 200 pts is $800 more, Riviera 200 pts is $2000 more. A bummer they decreased point incentives and removed Anniversary Promo simultaneously.
AKV seems to have a promo. Hopefully it is something attractive like the SSR from last round. I just emailed my guide. I will share the details once I get them.
Per someone's post on Disboards..
AKV offering:
- $10 off for 100-124 points
- $16 off for 125-149 points
- $22 off for 150-199 points
- $28 off for 200+ points
So kinda boring honestly

Thanks for the info! While not a firesale, I think it is decent. If your want the 150 for the blue card, after MB it comes down to $173 per point.

-22(round discount)
-20(MB)
=$173
This does not consider D23, Disney visa, annual passholder or other potential discounts.
Started loading the new incentives into the price comparison tool at https://forums.dvcfan.com/pricing-showdown --> Also included the Animal Kingdom incentives for existing members. Will continue to update, if you spot anything wrong let me know!

We purchased 160 points at VDH last incentive round (our very first direct purchase!) I'm afraid to do the math to see if we would have been better off buying now instead. We have no plans to buy more.

FYI - Just spoke to my guide: The Visa incentive/offer retired and has been replaced with a $1,000 discount for current annual passholders.

Ben...odd twist. My guide said the AP discount does NOT apply to RIV. I can only confirm it applied to Poly since I asked about those two specifcially.

Wait really? That's interesting, I wonder why they would leave out Riviera
I updated the tool to reflect this, will be on the lookout if it does not apply to others.

Yes. I have not been following promos for long but he agreed this was very odd.

@Lotheron I received updated written quotes from our direct guide today. I asked for Riviera, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Polynesian all priced out at 200 points each, with every applicable incentive clearly shown. That exercise was really helpful because some of the incentives didn’t work exactly the way I had originally assumed. The quotes now reflect our AP discount, D23 discount, and the current baseline incentives, so we finally have a clean apples-to-apples comparison to discuss.
At the moment, direct is still strongly calling our name. That said, I don’t expect us to make a final decision until we’re back on property at the end of next month. Our plan is to spend a morning—just my wife and me—walking the grounds of each resort, talking through how we actually see ourselves using the points long-term. After that, we’ll meet with our direct guide and tour the models.
We’re also considering speaking with a resale agent after our direct tour, mostly as a reality check. I feel like I’m very familiar with the pros and cons at this point, but my wife has probably reached her limit hearing me analyze DVC nonstop. Hearing the perspective of a neutral third party may help us feel confident that whichever direction we choose is truly the right fit for our family.

Since all of the incentives/offers are the same for everyone I won't dive into those details. The tool that Ben has developed is great and he is keeping up with active promos. I'll just say when considering 200 pts with the current promotion RIV and Poly cost the same at closing +/- $100. AKL would cost $2,200-$2,300 less at closing. Since everything is roughly the same on the front-end we are back to deciding how much annual dues and contract expiration years matter to us to aid in our decision.
Awesome - will definitely explore the new tool!

100%! I did not do things correctly with my direct contract (bought a soldout resort thinking I wanted direct perks for what I thought would be my one and only DVC contract), and already the price per point has gone up by $50 in the last 7 years.
Happy to call the BoardWalk, Bay Lake Tower, and Grand Floridian home!
This may be a dumb question, but if I own 2 resale contracts, would I be considered a member who does add on if I added direct points? Or would I be a new member? I'm assuming I am just a member adding on?

Yeah for incentives you'll be considered a member and get the member incentives.
