Most people like to think of Annual Dues running on a Calendar Year Basis so if the points touch the calendar year, you pay points. Best example of this is December. If the contract comes with December 26 UY points, you likely will pay Annual Dues for ALL of 2026. If that contract comes with 2025 Points as well as 2026
on the most basic level... If you buy Riviera, Cabins, or Disneyland Hotel resale you can only use your points at that one resort. Riviera points at Riviera for example.. If you buy any of the other resorts, you can exchange them amongst each other - but you cannot use them to stay at Riviera, Cabins, or Disneyland Hot
one trick is, if you can handle the heat go in Summer... It will be the least crowded of those times... go early in the morning, go back to the resort for some pool time in the afternoon, and then go back out at night use the extended evening hours and the early mornings.... I'd say buy resale until Direct offers a deal you can't say no to... they do happen once every few years.... The original resorts are unlikely to be surpassed in value and architectural grandeur/theming by anything Disney puts out for the foreseeable future... So buy resale and stay somewhere amazing... and eventually
we drive which gives us added flexibility we try to arrive as early as possible the first day - check in - then head out to a park or whatever... or we try to arrive at a time that we know going right to our room is likely... hate having to sit around in a lobby I don't find it relaxing to sit by the pool or in the lob
it seems to me that DVC is a studio-heavy product and the studios are where the highest demand is as well... that makes me think that the average number of points is lower and I think around 200 is about right...
Slightly maybe, but not very much… its more like if you need a matching UY you might be inclined to pay more… But int he aggregate I think it is about the same regardless… If you want Wine and Dine in October and Run Disney Marathon in January I’d say October UY is best…
