Lakeshore Lodge (Future) Owners Thread

We own at the Poly but are very excited to see Lakeshore Lodge!

Don't know if I'll buy there but I can't wait to stay there. Just returned from a recent stay at Boulder Ridge and got a great look at the new construction. Those A Frame cabins look big. I hope they have a second floor loft.

we are probably leaning this way for our eventual direct purchase because it'll be new, great location near MK, and should have the best incentives.... plus, lazy river. need i say more? i do want to know what kind of dining will be available there. i'd love a good lounge, character meal and a great quick service. if it's 2 or 3 high end dining places and a buffet i'd be a little less enthused.

My daughter and her fiancé went for a tour over at SSR while we were there in Dec, and of course we wanted to go see the Poly model room and Mike (and I) couldn't resist the addonitis.... so.... the rest is history on that one. We should have known better.

After spends many many years camping at the Fort, we're one of the weird campers that are actually looking forward to Lakeshore!

We were camping at the Fort back in Oct '24 and again this past Dec. It's coming along so quickly! I hope we hear something more about Lakeshore over the next few months. I know you have to take things with a grain of salt, but our direct guide hinted about the model rooms behind a set of closed doors when we met with her in Dec. We'll be back in a few weeks, but I'm not holding my breath... Maybe in Sept??

I am just excited to check it out when it opens. Excited to see the decor and theming and to walk around the grounds. I can definitely see us staying there at some future date.

I'm excited to see the layout of the A-frames. I'm hoping they have a hot tub like the Cascade Cabins.

This is the one we are holding out for, for direct purchase. If there is any chance they are combining with Cabins, just send me the paperwork.

So excited for this resort! Just got to Geyser Point for lunch, fun to always see the progress they’ve made. If I were to buy direct again I definitely think this would be a top contender with the Polynesian.

I'm excited about the lazy river! I'm thinking I'd love to own here, but unless we sell BRV, I don't see it happening.

I hope they call the whole pool complex River Country.

I'm hoping they have a rooftop viewing platform for fireworks!

So far, it looks like the place where we might be tempted to add on direct. All of our contracts are resale, but the FOMO is getting pretty real. Hopefully, I'll win the lottery sometime between now and the opening!

Out of curiosity if Disney released a point chart for LSL similar to CCV, gave it the same incentives as Riviera for members, and sold it for the current price as other WDW resorts, how many points would you purchase?

I would be interested to stay at the new lakeshore lodge. To me that building is going to be massive so just to visit there when it opens will be pretty cool. I wonder what effect it will have on hotel prices at Disney in genral

We feel your pain @donnsuz! We MUST have frequent flier status with our Buddy, Resale Derek at this point and we haven’t even stayed on our own points yet. Paul’s recent article on the current incentive has us actually considering purchasing Direct at BLT right now in part because of the ability as a direct member to stay at the new resorts that develop! Love your signature and TOTALLY GET the FOMO mindset! Meet you in the Lotto line!!!

We are resale and are considering adding on 25 to 40 direct points here to have access to the future resorts. Hopefully the points charts won't be outrageous like the Poly tower.

All I know if that if the imagineers working on the pool don't fill it with Easter Eggs from River Country they should all be fired.

I want to pick up a contract for LSL, but I'm still not convinced I'll ever buy a contract with future resale restrictions. We were waiting for LSL but chose Poly isntead for just this reason and we've only bought direct so far.

I hope with how big the resort is, they'll have plenty of availability at the 7 month window. We love CCV/BRV so if it's a similar vibe and the points chart isn't scary, I'm sure it'll be one of our favorites.

Hopefully they will reopen the walkway between Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge so it will be easy to get over there if you are staying at BRV or CCV.

I'm very interested in this resort and hoping to stay there when it goes on sale to try it out before purchasing. I currently own 150 at VGF and I'm getting the itch to buy more points. My conflict is another 75-100 at VGF or at LSL. I'll depend on the points chart and if it's bundled with the cabins.

I'm in the market for more direct points and am closely following the construction. I'll be very curious to see what the points charts and dues look like, too.

Yes excited and wanting more direct points as we are 80/20 resale to direct points currently. Thinking about the future hotels and potential memberships changes over time as we are planning for at least the next 40 years.

If what Ben proposed in his voting thing above, I'd sell my BRV and buy LSL. I'd get a favorite week contract there and be super happy.

Any word yet on whether or not the new lodge is going to be the same ownership interest as the FW Cabins or will it be a different ownership interest?

I am looking forward to LSL. We probably wont buy direct, if we buy more points it will be a small contract at AKL to add on to our resale contract to upgrade to stay in mostly 1 bedrooms. We are a party of 2 most of our visits, sometimes 4 with our adult daughter plus a friend she brings. We did buy direct at FW Cabins in October and with all available incentives and sold back 2025 points we got the price per point down alot! The dues are not ideal but we like the cabins. We bought resale in June 2025 and direct in October 2025. We will be going over to LSL to check it out for sure and hopefully get a stay at 7 months in 2028, maybe??. I think LSL will not be affiliated with FWC and wont reduce our dues.

It will almost certainly be separate. CCV and BRV are separate, for example. Since DVC has a 50 year timeframe , I can’t see them wanting to artificially limit a brand new building by a few years, just to add to an existing association. I would say the Polynesian is unique in that regard because it’s just an add-on to an existing property, not a brand new property altogether.

As a parent of 3 littles, I’m super hesitant to stay at the “boat only” MK resorts. Maybe in a few years when we aren’t toting the double BOB everywhere

But the Poly Tower is not separate from the rest of the Poly nor is Big Pine Key separate from the rest of DVC at the GF. Kidani Village and Jambo House are separate. They have established precedent for doing it both ways.

True, but those properties are all “similar” and will track the same kind of buyer for either one. The kind of buyer that wants to buy and stay at Lakeshore Lodge isn’t the same kind of buyer that wants to stay at a cabin in the woods, in my opinion.

I just don’t see them combining to somewhat different types of properties in the same association.

With these assumptions, I could be very interested. But, I think the price will almost certainly be higher than RIV prices right now - direct prices generally only go in one direction, up. And, I think the points chart will be nowhere near CCV/BRV levels. I think the RIV point chart is the starting point for LSL. I don't think it will be as bad as the Poly tower, but it isn't going to be lower than the RIV point chart IMO. They will justify it because the rooms will be newer and bigger.

There are quite strict rules in place around what they can say publicly about a timeshare development before it has been approved for sale, so not really. Those who were around when BLT was constructed may remember that they denied the existence or claimed ignorance about the building even as it was completely vertical, lol.

The Island Tower had new concept art released at the 2024 D23 Expo and it went on sale a few months later, so I'd expect some news to come of LSL at this year's expo, too.

Lets take it further. If they don't use the trust nor add restrictions, and the point chart similar to CCV... I'm all in for 300+ amd will sell my two resale contracts. But of course I know this wishfull thinking.

I’m right with you haha. If there’s no restrictions I’d purchase direct the moment it goes on sale.

I have direct Poly points, so I might consider staying there, and maybe buy points someday at LSL.

Same! DVC just had a press release about an hour ago about the lodge so that helped fix the confusion of the Disney Parks Blog post. It's vague and no real new info, but points to DVC being involved in the resort. Just updated the article to reflect it. :)

That comforting news. I figured it may be some oversite.

I’m trying to decide whether the lack of mention of 1 BR, 2BR or Grand Villas is (a) ominous or (b) primarily related to being super careful about legally delicate statements prior to state timeshare approval. Yes, they did mention the stand-alone cabins…but maybe some number of those will be allocated to the hotel side and therefore OK to mention.

The villas are in the original Reflections concept art so I'm going to assume that they will be announced as part of future releases.
