This was our last DVC purchase. The Polynesian has grown on us exponentially over the years. We love the original longhouses and the newer Island Tower. So happy to call this place one of our homes.

I don't own at the Poly, but it has quickly become one of my favorite non-home resorts! I love the ambiance and location, and I happen to really like the Island Tower as a complement to the original longhouses. Sometimes the Great Ceremonial House can feel chaotic, and the Island Tower was the complete opposite. When I stayed there, it was the best of both worlds--the convenience of the Poly amenities with the quieter atmosphere of the tower. Looking forward to staying there again some time!
Happy to call the BoardWalk, Bay Lake Tower, and Grand Floridian home!
We stayed club level at the Poly on a family trip in June 2022. Talk about setting the bar high. It was amazing. Check in is one week away and can’t wait. Haven’t stayed in the tower yet, as we need a studio that sleeps 5 but with my daughter off to college in the fall my son keeps reminding us that we can get a smaller studio.
We just recently purchased our Poly contract! I'm super excited to stay in the Island Tower in just about a month for our first stay as owners. We've previously stayed in the longhouses. Our contract is a Week 49 Favorite Week as I love to be at WDW in December. So happy to have many happy years ahead staying here!

I'm with you! We just did a 2 night staycation back in March in the longhouses - but LOVE Wailulu Grill and the pool over at the Towers! That pool is fantastic with some of the best views on property (and so much quieter/calmer/MORE ROOM than the main Poly pool!) We're doing the towers for 1 night before Mother's Day for the first time and excited to watch the fireworks from one of those viewing areas!

Lol - I'm just happy we both got the contracts we wanted.
Polynesian owner here since 2020!!

I always joke with Derek that I’m not a huge Polynesian fan. But all that changed with the Tower!! Now you can find my family there most Friday nights at the Wailulu grill 😂.

Ironically I went to look at a picture to post and realized we also are at the Polynesian at pretty much every major life event: baby shower, birthdays, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and my sons 9th birthday party will be held there in May.
Here a picture opening night back in 2015 when the long houses opened up… so I guess we are pretty big fans.

Howdy!
I took a trip to WDW with my mom and MIL in January and came home a new DVC owner. Perhaps it was the 12-degree wind chill during our trip that got to me, but after 50+ Disney trips since 2016, my husband and I decided it was finally time to buy into DVC. Our "Welcome Home" trip was to Aulani in March, during the record flooding on Oahu. Apparently, I like extreme weather conditions with my Disney trips.
We now own 150 direct points at the Poly. We fell in love with the longhouses years ago and make an effort to visit the Poly on most trips for their delicious food. My husband is an engineer and is obsessed with Stitch; he has a collection of over 500 Stitch plushes/pins/Loungeflys/shirts, etc. So we knew owning at the Polynesian was the best choice for our family. I am currently homeschooling my 2 teenagers, Caleb and Grace, and working part-time as an Operations Director for rental homes in NE Texas. We live on an 85-acre farm with our German Shepherd, Luna, and raise cows and chickens. WDW is our happy place, and we find ourselves escaping there for short trips 5-6 times a year. Our motto is "we work hard, so we can play hard."

I’ve been a Poly fan since my first visit in the mid 90s. My parents took us to Walt Disney World four years in a row, and every time we stayed at the Poly. I didn’t get to stay there again until almost 25 years later. I spent that whole trip wondering how I was going to afford to come back year after year. I soon learned about DVC and joined DVC Fan. After a year of research, I bought my first contract (resale) and it had to be the Poly.
Now that we are locals, we frequent the Poly for drinks and dinner and stay there every July 4th for my birthday and to get a good view of the fireworks.
My wife and I went to Aulani for the first time last year and absolutely loved it, but the Poly is still our favorite resort.

We’ve been Poly owners since last March, but our first stay was just this March at the Island Tower! So beautiful. We were on the fifth floor in a north corner, so the balcony had a fantastic view for fireworks and was down the hall from the open air lake view terrace. So lucky!

It’s totally my vibe, though I’m hoping to explore all the other DVC resorts as well!!
Bought our first 150 pts here at Poly in December, but 1st trip not until September. Can't wait! I'd wanted DVC for years, and finally talked my husband into it. Many thanks to DVC Fan for arming me with excellent info to make my case.
Poly Owner since Dec 2025. Honeymooned at WDW in 1997 (Candy castle!). As a kid, I dreamed of being a Disney animator. Favorite Disney movie: Lady and the Tramp.
We bought 200 pts last year and already have addonitis REAL BAD.
Stayed at the Polynesian in the longhouse studios through DVC rental store in February 2025. While it wasn’t our favorite hotel stay, the Island Tower enticed us enough to buy a contract in December 2025. Looking forward to our first stay at the Island Tower at some point soon (hopefully)! 🌺🏝️

Proud Polynesian owner! Bought 150 direct last year - would happily buy more if I could. Unbeatable location with amazing atmosphere.

Looking forward to staying in the longhouses for Dopey 2027!!

Finally enjoyed our first stay in February, after buying 200 direct points last April, thanks to multiple incentives.
Had a great view from Moorea, just a studio this time. We have a 1BD reserved for a few nights in the Island Tower (theme park view) in December that I'm looking forward to. Our stay in February was right after the cold snap, so the property didn't look its best, and it was still quite cool at the pool, but I definitely enjoyed the view from our room and from 'Ohana, I liked the access to the TTC and VGF (one of our favorite resorts to eat at), and the Dole Whip access is primo. Looking forward to trying Wailulu Grill next visit.
Looking for a good resale contract at the "Grand Flirty Inn"

It’s our favorite place and our home in so many ways, and our kids love it so much.
Hot take - the lake view rooms at Moorea are the best views on property. This is a photo we took last year on spring break that we’ve framed and hung it in our house.

We just bought Poly via DVC Resale! Our first stay isn’t until next January. Any tips?
Don't sleep on walking to the TTC. Super convenient to get to Epcot.
Poly is a vibe. Take time to relax and enjoy it.
We bought at the Poly in 2024. This wasn’t a resort at first that I thought that I would like. I always was in love with the Grand Floridian. On our first DVC stay at the Grand in 2024, I said let’s go over to the Poly for a drink, and that was all it took for my wife and I to fall in love with the resort. We bought more points that December when the Island Tower opened.
Our tradition is to go directly to Tambu Lounge and have a cocktail first thing when we get to Disney World (I think I stole that from AJ at DFB). That’s when our Disney vacation has officially started. Although, we tried Trader Sam’s for the first time last year, and I think that is now part of our first day traditions too.
Last year we had a waitlist come through, and we got to stay in the Island Tower in a theme park view deluxe studio. That was our first time staying in a them park view room. The island tower is so beautiful. We both can’t wait to try the longhouses this summer when we go to Disney.

Congrats! Things I’ve learned are breakfast at Kona is better than Ohana, you can get the best Ohana has to offer for dinner in the Tambu lounge next door once Ohana is open for dinner, the boat is such a nice way to get to the Magic Kingdom and imo better than the monorail, never take the MK monorail to the TTC just walk over, and if you want a more relaxing Poly stay I recommend staying at the tower. It’s so much less crowded over there and WaiLuLu is one of the best restaurants/lounges in all of Disney World not just at the Poly.

✨ Living the Disney dream, one magical moment at a time
Poly was my first contract. Love the vibes and resort in general. The lake view from the longhouse last December was something truly memorable

Our final add-on.. I think. :P. We're so glad to finally own at a monorail resort that has access to not only MK but easy access to Epcot as well. The vibes are unmatched. Even though we hate parking at TTC as locals.. the one thing that makes me happy is passing by Poly each time on the monorail and it makes me excited for the years of stays we'll have there once we move away.

We first bought direct at Riviera. After the purchase was done, my family looked at me and asked, “What about the Polynesian?” Less than a year from that purchase and before our first DVC stay at the Riviera (which was phenomenal BTW), I found a great Polynesian resale contract and pounced on it with the help of the great Derek DeBoer! We are looking forward to our first stay there in June in a one bedroom villa with a theme park view. Yesterday, I made our ADR’s at O’hana breakfast, Kona Cafe and Wailulu Grill. So happy to be a Polynesian owner!😊

As of last week we bought direct 150 points to Poly! It’s been a resort that quickly captured my heart once we enjoyed the Adirondack chairs while watching the fireworks with dole whip in hand. Last May we took a quick trip to stay in the duo studio and we fell in love with the towers. So glad we own direct now. We do plan to get resale points in the future.

We also just bought Poly in the last month or so, also direct, as it's the "last" resort without future restrictions. We'll eventually try to stay at some point, but the tower point chart is scary on some days :(
Home Resorts: Old Key West 🏖️ Polynesian Villas and Bungalows 🏝️
Anyone else feel like the Island Tower points chart is just a bit crazy? I get that it's the newest, but it's usually the most expensive resort, and a decent step up from most other rooms within a category. For example, the standard view 2BR is 32% more points than a BLT resort view 2BR. Of the six most expensive options for a 2BR, PIT has five of them. I'm not sure I'll ever end up staying there.

My wife and I have dinner reservations at Wailulu in June, along with a tour of the Island Tower lined up. I really think we will become owners there this summer.

JUST closed on a resale contract this month, and JUST got our DVC info and membership ID this week on a Poly contract. We stayed in the Island tower last summer, and Pago Pago this February. I purchased the contract sitting on the balcony of our deluxe studio during nap time. So yeah the Poly is great! Also the walk home from the TTC at the end of the night was surprisingly quick. Ohana character breakfast was a bit of a sham though. They gave us our bill about 25 minutes and 2 characters in.

Aloha folks... Poly owner since Jan 2023... bought direct while on a Cruise... they had a pretty good promo at the time, and I was 99% sure that the Tower would officially be included... later that year they announced it would...and I bought an additional Resale contract. I love the poly, but have only stayed there once... as I rarely know I will be traveling 11 months out. Come to love OKW and Saratoga as well.

Family owners that finally closed on a dream resort with @TimsWorld . I love the Polynesian, from mom going the luau back in the day to the time we arrived in the early 2000s at 1am to find the sliding doors turned off because the parrots used to walk out of the building. Can't wait for my one night stay in the tower before HHN for my 40th. :)
